Google Local has an event every month, and if you're participating in the program and doing reviews as required, you can go. It's usually free food and drink. So far Mason and I have been on a duck tour of Austin dive bars, to Esther's Follies, to Karaoke Apocolypse, and to Top Golf. Always fun, always free food and drink.
Last week we went to a farm-to-table fete, a sit-down dinner with jam-inspired cocktails, and s'mores afterwards. Mason and I took our friends Jeremy & Danielle as our +1s, and apparently Tucker's been doing his reviews because we saw him there, too!
Pictures! Some are mine and some were stolen off the event page. ;-)

Halloween Party Fun!
Our annual Halloween party was last night! While the fun and karaoke officially began at 8:00, the Game of Thrones crew and the Fifth Element couple all showed up at 5:30 to start setting up. I think that early start might have hurt me, because I hit the wall early. For the first few hours of the party I was in top form. I was really circulating and talking to everybody. I was looking for anybody I didn't know so I could introduce myself and looking for anybody who seemed to be all alone. I felt like a power hostess. But then suddenly at 11:30 I completely hit the wall and just fell out. I didn't feel like I'd drank too much and I do think I paced myself appropriately, I just hit the wall full force. I missed the last 90 minutes of our signature party of the year. Which really sucked but it was what it was.
Next year I'd like the party to go exactly the same way, except that I last through the end. To make that happen, next year I'll need to remember to train for the party. By training for it, I mean that I will *not* go out and have drinks every night for the 3 nights leading up to the party day (Blame Austin Beer Week!). And on party day I will try to get a nap, and then a big mug of coffee around 6:00 pm. This will be my plan next year so that I have a perfect party experience.
